They sit right in between ready-to-ship and fully custom, giving you the freedom to create something personal, without feeling overwhelmed by too many decisions.

But this time… we’re taking it a step further.

What are semi-custom leather covers?

Semi-custom leather covers are designed to give you a balance between choice and simplicity.

Instead of starting from scratch, you build your cover by selecting a few key elements, and I take care of the rest, making sure everything comes together beautifully, both in design and function.

Each piece is handmade, carefully crafted, and unique.

And now, semi-custom covers are getting an upgrade.
You can customize the inside pockets too.

How do semi-customs work?

With semi-customs, you start with the foundation, the main leather, and build from there.

You choose the size to fit your notebook, planner, inserts, or journal. There are sizes for almost everything, available in Traveler’s Notebook style or perfect-fit folios.

Whether you use Hobonichi, Sterling Ink, Papertess Design, Leuchtturm, Stalogy, or something else, you will be able to find a size that works for you.

Once you choose your main leather, you can customize:

  • size of the cover
  • outside pocket design and leather(s)
  • trifold design if wanted
  • inside pocket design
  • elastic color
  • thread color
  • embossing style and placement
  • notes for special requests or details

Inside pocket customization

The biggest upgrade in semi-customs 2.0 is the ability to customize the inside pockets.

You will be able to choose from:

  • simple pockets (classic and minimal)
  • double full-length pockets
  • double pockets with a secretarial layer on top
  • card slots

Each pocket layout is thoughtfully designed to fit the size of your cover, ensuring everything feels natural and functional.

I will also combine your inside pocket choice with your outside leather selection, making sure the final design looks cohesive, balanced, and refined.

This is where I step in as a designer, selecting the optimal combination for your cover, with design, functionality, and longevity always in mind.

Leathers and options: what to expect at each opening

Each semi-custom opening will feature a curated selection of main leathers.

Instead of offering everything at once, I carefully choose a few leathers for each release, making the process easier and more inspiring.

Pocket designs will also rotate:

  • some classic options will always be available
  • while others will change from opening to opening

This keeps things fresh, while still giving you reliable staples to choose from.

Designed for you, made by hand

Every semi-custom cover is made individually.

No templates, no mass production, just your choices, thoughtfully brought together into a finished piece that is both beautiful and practical.

No two covers are ever the same.

Turnaround time

Because each piece is handmade and customized, the turnaround time is usually up to 6 weeks.

Each opening may have its own timeline, depending on the number of orders available.

I always do my best to complete orders sooner when possible, while still maintaining the quality and attention to detail each cover deserves.

All the listings with main leathers will be in the semi-custom section. Please read the description carefully and look at the photos for information.
